The Evangelism Specialist will lead, develop, and support evangelistic strategies and initiatives that align with the YLKA’s mission. This position will equip teams, coordinate outreach events, and build sustainable evangelism.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
Design and implement contextualized evangelism strategies for various target groups (urban, rural, youth, unreached people groups)
Collaborate with cluster coordinator teams and other specialist to integrate evangelism into broader mission activities, including community development programs.
Design and implement comprehensive evangelism strategies aligned with organizational strategy, goals and the spiritual needs of target communities.
Conduct spiritual mapping and research to identify evangelism opportunities and challenges in various regions.
Evaluate and adapt methods to ensure cultural relevance, doctrinal soundness, and long-term sustainability.
Training & Equipping:
Train staff, volunteers, and local church partners in evangelism methods that are in line with the organisations strategies (relational evangelism, Perpana and digital evangelism)
Develop training materials, toolkits, and workshops.
Outreach Coordination:
Organize and oversee outreach campaigns.
Identify and engage opportunities for partnership with churches, ministries, and community organizations.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:
Track the impact of evangelism activities through reports, testimonies, and mentoring.
Establish indicators to track the effectiveness of evangelism initiatives.
Collect and analyse data, testimonials, and field reports to inform strategy.
Present monthly and quarterly impact updates to leadership and donors.
Spiritual Leadership:
Serve as a spiritual role model, fostering a culture of prayer, integrity, and Christ-centred service.
Qualifications:
A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to the Great Commission.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in evangelism or pastoral ministry; cross-cultural experience is highly valued.
Degree in Theology, Missiology, Ministry, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to connect with diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to train and inspire others in evangelistic work.
Cross-cultural experience and awareness. Cross-cultural experience may include working across different cultural backgrounds within Indonesia.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are preferred.
Willingness to travel locally and internationally, sometimes to remote or challenging locations.
Desirable Attributes:
Multilingual or willingness to learn new languages.
Experience with digital evangelism or media-based outreach.
Knowledge of or connection to global or regional evangelism networks.
